Not tested in FS2002. If you are using the Gille Gauthier's mesh mentioned below, you should try it

THIS SCENERY IS D O N A T I O N W A R E

I do not charge for my work . However, since I am handicap partially and cannot hold a regular job, I am sure you can appreciate that S M A L L DONATIONS ARE WELCOME. Please contact me at the addy below.

CAUTION: MY NEW POLICY CONCERNING THE USE OF MESH AND OTHER FILES

I wish to pay special tribute to GILLES GAUTHIER who made the island that Microsoft had not put in. This island had to be there for the installation of the dock. Gilles also made some roads and many corrections to the landscape and shores. Without Gille's work this scenery could not be made.

In all my sceneries now, I use the following files:

From Gilles Gauthier, you will need to install:

"qc09_2K4a.zip, qc09_2K4b.zip, qc09_2K4c.zip, qc09_2K4d.zip" and

"scenes_du_quebec_2k4.zip" This latter one includes all the others like "ilesstlaurentqc.zip" and more.

I also suggest you get file "skiqc.zip" by Guillaume Plamondon. It is most of the major ski centers in Québec (except the Laurentian region)

The above files are the ones I use and recommend to view my next sceneries. Some of my older sceneries, especially the installations off the perimeter of a default airfield, may show some items not set on the ground properly. I will issue revised versions soon, I hope.

SPECIAL OBJECTS INSTALLATION.

I have decided to use some very nice vehicles and other objects made by Lars Höyer for most of my scenes. These also have the advantage of being easy on the frame rate. This way, I can give you more for your money (sic).

You will need to download and install (execute) his file ONLY ONCE for this and all other sceneries using these objects. The name of the file is: "ExtraObjects_v1_0.zip"

This is very easy to do and should cause you no difficulty. Any question about this file should be directed directly to the creator, Lars Höyer. His addy is in his download file.

Le Chemin des Patriotes (of history fame) is situated alongside the Richelieu River. The Richelieu is the river that links Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence River.

In this scenery, you will find the small dam and lock at St. Ours de Sorel where my dad used to take me fishing. I have not been there for a long time now and did this from memory as I could not find much on the internet. Still, I am pretty sure it is quite similar, with of course the usual 'artist's licence' or if you prefer to call it an excuse to fill in the gaps or satisfy my muse. There are docking facilities at the lock.

You will also find another docking facility at the village of St. Denis where I have also installed a grass field at the southern edge of the village. At night, a runway is lit with kerosene torches to guide you in.

Also, between the lock and the St. Mathieu de Beloeil, I have installed three small ferries. They are all a bit different and it is worth a close look I think.

You will also find the 'Théatre de l'Escale' which is an old ferry boat that was transformed into a Summer Theatre. Most consider it as a landmark now.

I suggest you have a peak at all the night textures as well.

I also did extensive Landclass work along the ST. Lawrence River from Montréal to Québec. I strongly recommend that you install them , it makes a world of difference. The files are: "Qlc9_ff3.zip & Qlc9_ff4" For this scenery however, the necessary landclass is enclosed here.

Québec Short Hops and Québec Bush sceneries are aimed at making VFR flying in Québec most pleasant and attractive as I can make it. So far, for FS9, I have created a few sceneries along the St.Lawrence river and also in the Beauce region and also in the Laurentians. These sites are close enough so you can hop from one to the other using the lighthouses and other aids I included.

I also have made other sceneries for the Montréal region. The enclosed map will show the airfields for which I made sceneries in Québec.

You can upload any of my sceneries, aircraft and aircraft textures if you make a search at AvSim for author Leon Louis.

If you have a special request, please mail me.

Thanks to Bill Derenburger for testing the beta version of this scenery.

I must not forget Tom Hiscox and Brian McWilliams for the program "Airport for Windows" and also Matthias Brückner for the program "EOD" which I used to make my macros. I thank also Martin Wright for the program "DXT" and Lee Swordy for the progam "Afcad".

KNOW ISSUES:(those lines are to keep the bug chasers and nit pickers happy

The parasol on the picnic table only show up in the summer months. The one on the airfield was stolen.

Nit pickers and bug chasers are NOT welcomed to send me their comments. You do not like it, sorry, I will double your money back. Just send me a copy of your invoice.

I create my sceneries in summer, recommended for best results.

If I find a way to improve an item or a texture, even if this item or texture is used in a previous release, I reserve the right to change it anytime.

MESH AND SCENERY ENHANCEMENT: This scenery was made to be compatible and used with Gilles Gauthier's fine FREEWARE mesh and scenery enhancement. See above for all the details.

If you do not use the mesh, I have no idea what it will look like.

=============================

During installation overwrite when prompted to do so.

1- If you do not have a Québec Landclass where you usually install your sceneries, you must make one with a subfolder named scenery.
You should then have:

xxxxxxx/Quebec Landclass/scenery

Activate in the library.

2- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the Addon Scenery folder into:
xxxxxxx/Flight Simulator 9/Addon Scenery/Scenery

3- Place the CONTENTS ONLY of the effects folder in the Effects folder of your Flight Simulator.

4- Place the folder "Chemin des Patriotes" as is, with its contents where you usually install your sceneries.
If you prefer, you may cut/paste the contents of the texture folder into your main Fs9/texture folder.

Activate the scenery in the library.

That is all.

Restart Flight Simulator and welcome to "La Belle Province"

Thank you and enjoy your visit

Léon Louis
